The Great Commission School board is comprised of individuals who are invested in furthering the vision and mission of Great Commission Schools.

Qualifications/General Responsibilities

  • All members of the School Board shall be born-again believers and shall agree without reservation with Articles II and III of the Bylaws.
  • The Board of Great Commission Schools shall oversee the continuing operation of this ministry and generally oversee the school’s business affairs. The responsibilities of the Board shall include, but not be limited to, making policy, acting on matters of personnel including hiring and firing, establishing tuition and fees, promoting Christian education in the community, and praying for the ministry of the school.
  • Members of the School Board shall be born-again believers and subscribe without reservation to the school’s Statement of Faith and Philosophy of Education.
  • Members of the School Board shall be Christian role models in the school and community.
  • Members of the School Board shall receive no compensation for their services. The Board may authorize the reimbursement of expenses, incurred by any Board member, in the performance of official business for the school or the Board.
  • Board members serve a 3-year term and can serve up to two (2) consecutive terms.
  • If someone is interested in serving on the school board at GCS, they must fill out an application and be approved by current board members.

The GCS board committees are two-fold

  1. Investigate topics relating to their specific area of concentrations, or other areas as directed by the board, and make recommendations to the full board relating to those topics
  2. Carry out approved board policies and decisions as directed by the full board

School Board Meetings

School board meetings are held the third Tuesday of every month in the school auditorium (Time -  TBD)
