We are so glad that you are considering being a volunteer here at Great Commission Schools! We believe that you'll enjoy volunteering for us and being around our amazing staff and students!

However, there are a few things we need from you first!

1. Fill out the volunteer application and submit it to the office

2. Get your Pennsylvania Clearances (need to be 5 years current)

        PA Child Abuse Clearance

        Criminal Background History

FBI Fingerprint History Clearance - Volunteers who are not required to obtain the FBI Clearance because they are applying for an unpaid position and have been a continuous resident of Pennsylvania for the past 10 years must swear or affirm in writing that they are not disqualified from service based upon a conviction of an offense under §6344.

Why Clearances?

Keep Kids Safe - PA Gov.- Adults applying for or holding an unpaid position as a volunteer with a child-care service, a school or a program, activity or service responsible for the child’s welfare or having direct volunteer contact with children will need clearances.

The vision of Great Commission School is to see students excel in serving God and others.

The mission of Great Commission School is to provide a challenging Biblically based learning environment.

The Vision and Mission are fulfilled in five specific areas.

    1. Students that achieve excellence in academics and Christian character.
    2. A school that exhibits sound financial stewardship.
    3. Staff that models and cultivates excellence in the student body.
    4. Facilities that foster a positive learning environment.
    5. Families that covenant their commitment to the vision of the school.

Great Commission Schools provides a top athletic program that offers many opportunities for students that are interested in getting involved with sports.  We provide unique experiences that other small schools may not be able to do, such as playing a soccer game under the lights on the turf field at Penn State Altoona.  It takes money to run an Athletic Program and do special things for our student athletes.  One of our primary source of funding is through the generousity of our local sponsors, who donate money to our program.

At the beginning of each school year, we reach out to many local businesses and ask if they would consider helping our athletic program with a donation.  Sponsorships come in four levels:

  • Platinum  $250
  • Gold  $225
  • Silver  $200
  • Bronze  $175

All sponsors are showcased on a tshirt that is worn by student athletes (and fans) throughout the year.  Platinum sports are also listed on our website.

We are so thankful for all of our sponsors, but would like to give special recognition to our Platinum Sponsors that donated the highest amount to help our student athletes.  Our Platinum Sponsors are:
