Great Commission Schools is part of the Allegheny Christian Athletics Association (ACAA)  GCS is one of fifteen schools in this league spanning across Pennsylvania.  The ACAA is divided into two divisions.  GCS is part of the Western division.  Our core schedule is built around the teams within our league; however, we do play other area teams outside of our league.  We do follow PIAA guidelines and use PIAA Officials.  At times, we will scrimmage or play area public schools such as Tyrone, Altoona, Harmony, Central, and others to provide our student athletes with higher level challenges to improve their skills.  GCS offers 3 primary sports to our students, which are Soccer, Basketball, and Track.  We also partner with other local schools to offer club sports, such as Fencing.

We encourage our student athletes to be the best on and off the field/court.  All practices/games begin with prayer and encorporate Scripture on a regular basis.  We want our student athletes to develop Christian Character and draw closer to Christ as part of their athletic experience at GCS.

Soccer (Boys and Girls)

August - Octoberboyssoccer

CoachesBoys: Mr. Scott Hildebrand and Mr. Dave Long   Girls:  Pastor Tyler Pepper

Great Commission Schools has continued to produce top level soccer teams for both the boys and girls through the years. Over the last 5 years, both teams have finished #1 in the west and within the top 5 in the ACAA.  This is quite an accomplishment for such a small school and playing some teams more than triple our size.

Students may begin playing on the varsity team starting in the 7th grade; however, due to PIAA restrictions, they may not be able to particpate against PIAA teams until 9th grade.

GCS participates in yearly soccer camps, tournaments and scrimmages to prepare our student athletes for game time.  Practices are usually held Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, after school.

Our home field is Leopold Field in Altoona.

Students may begin playing on the varsity team starting in the 7th grade; however, due to PIAA restrictions, they may not be able to particpate against PIAA teams until 9th grade.
